Whitman Knapp is the Chairman of GTBInsights, LLC an advisor to banks and fintechs focused on the development and implication of DLT technology for Global Transaction Banking operations. Before founding GTBInsights, LLC in 2011, Whitman spent 20 years providing market research and advice to the major global transaction banks. In 1992, he founded the market research, FImetrix LLC, a provider of competitive insights and intelligence in international payments, trade, and supply chain services to major banks across the globe.

Prior to his work in transaction banking market research, Whitman spent over 24 years in international banking, holding senior management positions with The First National Bank of Boston in Boston, Luxembourg, London, and Paris.

He continues his active involvement in the Transaction Banking industry. He has had a long-standing engagement with BAFT - the Bankers’ Association for Finance and Trade - where he is a past Director, and currently contributes a significant amount of time to the development of the BAFT DLPC, the Distributed Ledger Payment Commitment. This engagement led to a current role as Advisor, Strategic Partnerships, for the Swiss fintech startup, FQX, AG, who’s innovative eNotes™ are aligned with the BAFT DLPC.

Whitman is a past Trustee of College Year in Athens.
