Philip Wood CBE KC (Hon), is a leading expert in international finance law, financial regulation and insolvency. He is a former Special Counsel and Head of the Global Intelligence Unit at Allen and Ovey LLP, where he was previously a partner and headed up the Banking Department.

He is the author of over 20 books mainly on the law and practice relating to international finance. He has held visiting Professorships at the University of Oxford, Queen Mary University of London, London School of Economics & Political Science, and Yorke Distinguished Visiting Fellow at the University of Cambridge. He has lectured at over 76 around the world.
